Rules For The Course

RULES

I Declare an… iPad Oath

Posted by Lisa Johnson

After reading this nice post  a great idea has come to my mind. Why not to do the same in my class? Why not to have some rules for the smart phone  instead of the iPad?
So, let´s start reading the rules.

So many things I want to know,
My brain can’t catch all of it on the first go.

So I take notes when I watch things or read,
When I’m in class and my teacher speaks.
Yeah y’all, take notes on stuff,
Jot down important parts and ignore the fluff.
Don’t write notes in full sentences,
Use small phrases to remember it.
If your teacher says, “Jefferson was the third president
Of the United States of America,”
Jot down this, it’s better kid:
Jefferson — 3rd president.
Keep it organized, so you can scan it back,
And find the info that you lack.
There’s three major note-taking methods,
So pick the one you want to mess with.

Jot it down, yeah, you better take notes,
Make it stick in your mind, take notes.
Trying to read for school? Take notes,
Why? So you can double-back and read what you wrote.

In the Cornell method, draw a line down the page,
From the left side, about a third of the way.
On the right, write your notes,
Your page is looking so clean like a bar of soap.
On the left side, write key words,
Don’t draw cartoons of Justin Bieber.
Have the key words relate to the right,
Put a summary at the bottom that’s out of sight.
Or get with the Outlining method,
It’s when the sub-points get indented.
Give your first main topic a big “I,”
Then give your subtopic a big “A.”
And the details get a “1” and “2,”
Each one indented, yeah, that’s true.
Subtopic two will get a big “B,”
Then you might see a “1,” “2” and “3.”
The third method is the most artistic,
It’s Mind Mapping — just Van Gogh with it.
Write the topic name in the page’s middle,
Draw a circle around it, not little.
And the main points get circles nearby,
With a line connecting them to the first guy.
Same deal with the details, yeah, that’s fine,
Take notes like you work for the NY Times.

Jot it down, yeah, you better take notes,
Make it stick in your mind, take notes.
Trying to read for school? Take notes,
Why? So you can double-back and read what you wrote.

Have A Nice School Year

Hello everyone, summer is over and we are back to school.
I know some of you but, you don´t know me.
We have plenty of time to know each other.
So I hope we have a nice school year and this will depend on us all.

It is time to start working hard .
It is time to think what we want to do this course.
It is good to start on the right foot from the beginning.

Look at  these  cartoons and say what they mean.

And what about this one?

Watch this video.
Here are three ways to help you study.
Listen and write .

Back To School - Break The Ice and Musical Grease2

BREAK THE ICE
The first day of class is usually spent in part by getting acquainted and establishing goals.  There are icebreakers that can be used at the first session to reduce tension and anxiety, and also to immediately involve the class (you all) in the course. Don't be afraid , and above all, have fun and start that most important first day of class on the right foot!.
  • INTRODUCE MYSELF
  • INTRODUCE ANOTHER
  • CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
  • I'VE DONE SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T DONE
  • HOW DO YOU FEEL?
THINK HOW YOU CAN DO IT  AND BE FRANK.
